Presentation of Smart City at the investment forum “Kharkiv: Restart”

On Investment Forum “Kharkiv: Restart”In Kyiv there was a presentation of the Smart City concept for the restoration and reconstruction of Kharkiv — a city of education, innovation and Smart technologies with our participation.

The presentation reflected the following directions:

Smart Transportation includes smart stops equipped with free Wi-Fi, terminals for paying for travel, video surveillance and video analytics, electronic scoreboards for tracking the movement of public transport using GPS technology. Smart traffic lights and smart parking.

Smart Communal Enterprise which includes a system for monitoring and preventing leaks in heat networks with IoT technology, a platform for data collection and control of IoT devices, a network of LoRaWAN stations, wireless remote collection of meters for industrial and domestic users, the main urban situation center.

Smart Microdistrict- is an innovative approach to the development of residential areas, combining modern technologies, sustainable ecology and a high level of comfort for living.

 
Smart Education- management and security systems on campuses, interactive technology in lessons and lectures, innovative research systems, electronic learning system, smart libraries.

Smart Medicine- electronic medical records, data analytics and prediction of diseases such as stroke or heart attack, pharmaceutical information system, mobile applications for patients.

Smart City Management- document flow system, meeting management system, long-term archiving system.

Smart Tourism— Kharkiv tourist portal, mobile application with virtual assistant using AR technology with reference to location, digital AR rooms, route planning.

Mayor of Kharkiv, Igor Terekhov, told how a new ecosystem of the city is created. The credit resources of the European Investment Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development are involved and presented projects for the development of the city.
Among these projects are “Lopanska Embankment”, which involves the creation of an open space for recreation and creativity, “Prigorodnaya station “Levada” with a modern transport hub and a shopping and entertainment cultural center.
Also, Igor Terekhov told investors about the modern microdistrict “city within the city” on Alekseevka, where it is planned to build new housing, offices and objects of the social sphere. In addition, the mayor presented the project “Science Park” - an innovative mixed-use microdistrict, reconstruction of the Railway Station Square and the creation of a unique green zone in the Zhuravlev Hydropark.

Co-Chair of the Norman Foster Foundation's Architecture and Technology Division, Alberto Sandoy, presented at the forum the concepts of pilot projects for the restoration of the city of Kharkov.
He said that more than 120 working sessions involving more than 800 people were held to develop the overall plan, as well as numerous surveys of the local population. As a result of these efforts, five key pilot projects were developed.

The first project provides for the restoration of the historical center of the city, including the restoration of the regional administration building. The second focuses on harnessing the potential of four rivers of Kharkiv, including the creation of recreational areas and the construction of safe power lines. The third is aimed at the ecological development of industrial giants, taking into account the cyber potential of Kharkiv. The fourth is focused on the construction of modern energy-efficient apartment buildings, and for this purpose the possibility of launching the production of modular structures in Kharkiv is considered. The fifth project is the creation of a science park that will become a multifunctional area with the participation of international partners of the Norman Foster Foundation.

 

Secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe and Head of the UN4Kharkiv Project, Gulnara Roll,stressed that thanks to the support of the German government, these pilot projects will be developed in more detail. They will be ready to invest and establish relationships with donors, investors, including the private sector. In addition, a tool will be developed that will allow tracking the financing and execution of these projects.

It is planned that this approach will also be used in other cities of Ukraine, in particular, in Nikolaev, Irpen and Borodianka.

In general, the investment forum “Kharkiv: Restart” was attended by Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Oleksiy Kuleba, Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine — Minister for Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine Irina Vereshchuk, MP, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Government of the office for attracting and supporting investments “UkraineInvest” David Arakhamiya, Chairman of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy Danylo Getmantsev, representatives of state agencies, international investors and industrial enterprises.

At the Kharkiv: Restart Investment Forum, it was discussed exactly what is needed for Ukrainian IT to continue to grow, and investments were invested in Ukrainian companies, because Kharkiv is one of the most important centers of the Ukrainian information and technology sector, which contributes significantly to strengthening economic stability and recovery of Ukraine.
