Our customer - a large network of wholesale centers, had the task of optimizing the processes of acceptance and shipment of goods, since this process takes a significant amount of working time from employees of large supermarkets. During these operations, accidental or intentional errors can occur, resulting in losses.
With the help of the Smart Ramp system, we were able to automate the control of warehouse operations for the acceptance and shipment of goods, which allowed to reduce the time, the number of employees involved in these operations, and ensure transparency of actions.
Now VERNA specialists have already designed and implemented Smart Ramp systems in 6 large shopping centers in 4 cities of Ukraine and planning work is underway on new customer facilities. The first test system was carried out by us back in 2020, and this year we implemented such systems in 5 shopping centers. Our automated product acceptance control system has received positive feedback from employees and management.
The system consists of controllers, magnetic card readers, ramp opening sensors, video communication terminals with a security post and tablets with a database of suppliers.
Before accepting the goods, the employee with access rights to a particular department notifies the central security post via video link that he plans to accept the goods. After that, he unlocks the roller ramp with his magnetic card and opens it. Also, on the tablet attached to the roller shutter, the employee selects from the supplier's database, from whom and in what quantity the goods will be accepted, as well as the numbers of the accompanying documents.
Upon completion of the acceptance of the goods, the warehouse employee informs the security post that all operations are completed and closes the shutter. It automatically becomes protected.
If an unauthorized opening of the shutter occurs, the siren will work, and an alarm will appear on the monitor of the security post and the broadcast of the camera directed to this zone will automatically turn on. A security guard can use a loudspeaker communication system to notify the offender that he is under control.
All actions of both the employees who accept the goods and the security are logged, for each case of violation a form is filled in, which is stored in the database. Allinformation can be downloaded in the form of tables with reports. At any time there is an opportunity to view how many times, at what time and for what purposes the shutters were opened.
The equipment must meet the customer's requirements to work in different zones and climatic conditions, such as working with a tablet in a fish area when employees often have wet hands. In this area, we propose to use an industrial-class tablet model.
