To modernize the IT infrastructure with the possibility of further scaling of Spenser&Kauffmann, it was necessary to design and carry out a step-by-step holistic data transfer with minimal disruption to the workflow.
1. Analyze the existing IT infrastructure and determine the requirements for future deployment.
2. Design a scheme for deploying infrastructure in the SIM-Networks cloud environment.
3. Make graphs of step-by-step data migration to minimize the impact on workflows.
4. Assess the need for resources (virtual machines, memory, disk space).
5. Implement a pfSense-based VPN tunnel to improve cloud security.
6. Apply Windows to deploy terminal farms and ActiveDirectory-based directory services based on Windows Server 2016.
7. Monitor and evaluate the performance of the system during the test and pilot period.
8. Prepare documentation for the deployment and operation of infrastructure.
9. To provide training to users about new services and capabilities.
Verna specialists calculated and designed a scheme for the expansion of the customer's IT infrastructure in the SIM-Networks cloud storage. We have plotted step-by-step data migration to minimize workflow disruption.
In order to increase the security of the cloud, a VPN tunnel based on pfSense was built. The solution uses Windows software for terminal farms and ActiveDirectory directory services based on Windows Server 2016.
To optimize the size of file resources, the built-in data deduplication feature in Windows Server 2016 was used.
Virtual Windows Server: Win 2016 is used to localize 1C database storage. 8GB, HDD 200GB.
A mail server based on Zimbra has been migrated to cloud storage: 4 cores, 8 GB RAM, 400 GB HDD with 1 TB additional backup space.
Integrated migration, taking into account the design of the infrastructure in the cloud storage, was carried out within 3 working weeks, minimizing disruption of the workflow.
The performance of the system has increased by an average of 20% and has the ability to scale dynamically within minutes.
