VERNA has successfully completed the modernization of the video surveillance system at the elevator enterprise of our customer — a large international agricultural holding engaged in the storage and processing of agricultural products.
As part of the project, conventional CCTV cameras were replaced by explosion-proof cameras specially adapted for production facilities with conveyor lines along which agricultural products move, accompanied by an intense dust environment.
The modernization process included the design, installation and testing of new cameras, as well as the replacement of standard cameras with explosion-proof ones.
The explosion-proof chambers used in this project are designed to operate in extreme temperature conditions typical of hazardous areas. They provide a wide temperature range — from -30°C to +60°C.
The housing of the chambers is made of special materials and structural elements that are designed to prevent the occurrence of explosive situations.
Cameras designed for use in hazardous environments have dust and moisture protection, which is critical in conditions of fire risk.
Explosion-proof chambers are certified according to the requirements of explosion protection.
The use of explosion-proof cameras at agricultural enterprises and industrial facilities is due not only to safety considerations and control of production processes, but also to legal requirements.
According to many safety standards, in elevators and similar industrial facilities where there is a risk of explosion (for example due to dust or gas), it is necessary to comply with specifications for electrical installations in explosive zones.
ATEX (Atmosphères Explosibles) — a key European standard for equipment intended for use in explosive environments. It establishes safety requirements and labeling of products that are operated in such conditions.
IEC 60079 Standard Series (International Electrotechnical Commission) defines requirements for equipment for use in explosive environments. It includes various parts related to explosion protection of electrical and mechanical equipment.
