Verna has completed a project to guarantee the security of corporate data center (data center) resources and protect users from potential threats. This task was even more complicated, because the customer's branches are distributed to remote sites. Solving such a problem requires high bandwidth, reliable encryption of traffic and adequate protection of user devices, both within the corporate network and beyond.
• ensure the security of data center resources and corporate users when interacting with the Internet;
• configure the encryption of traffic between the data center and remote sites;
• provide a bandwidth of at least 2 Gbps;
• ensure the protection of users' devices within and outside the corporate network;
• Create the ability to connect remote employees to the corporate network using a VPN connection and Cisco Anyconnect software.
The Verna team of engineers worked out the customer's tasks in detail, as a result, completed the following project stages.
• determination of the customer's network requirements for bandwidth and security;
• analysis of the network infrastructure of the core module of the corporate network;
• selection of current network technologies and equipment;
• development of a scheme for incorporating routers and internetwork screens into the existing network topology;
• creation of a migration plan for new equipment with minimum downtime of the company's services.
• purchased equipment and software;
• installation of switching equipment in the customer's data center has been completed;
• configuration of the router and the internetwork screen configuration has been made;
• configured secure VPN channels between the data center and remote offices;
• configured Cisco Firepower Management Center;
• created ACL list templates;
• systems connected to Cisco Umbrella cloud protection;
• a general testing of the performance of the entire system was carried out.
A Cisco ASR router and a Cisco Firepower internetwork screen are installed as the core of the data center network. Management of security products is provided through Firepower Management Center.
For fault tolerance and backup of the data center network infrastructure, all network equipment is connected to the switch stack by two channels with a data transfer rate of 10 Gbps each.
The use of the Cisco ASR service router allowed to increase the bandwidth between the data center and remote sites to at least 2 Gbps.
The application of the Cisco Firepower internetwork screen together with the Management Center management system allowed to obtain a complete set of functions for managing internetwork screens. The solution provided monitoring, application monitoring, intrusion prevention, and protection against complex malware.
Significantly increased network administration efficiency, now the engineer quickly receives information about user activity, nodes, applications, files, mobile devices, virtual environments, threats and vulnerabilities. that may be on the network.
Device protection inside and outside the corporate network is provided with CisCoumBrella. The ability to access securely from anywhere is obtained, even if the VPN is not used.

• Users' devices can connect to a corporate VPN connection network and remain secure with Cisco Umbrella cloud service.
