Wi-Fi Wireless Network Modernization Project

Project goals


The goal of the project was the creation of a distributed, seamless, scalable and highly productive wireless network in the N-IX office in Lviv. To achieve this goal, it is necessary to solve a number of tasks, including the creation of a reliable and flexible infrastructure to maintain the high density of users and the processing of larger volumes of traffic.

Resoluciones


Within the framework of the project, the following works were completed:

• Determination and development of the desired network infrastructure.

• Carrying out radio analysis and radio frequency planning.

• Conducting an IT audit of the existing network infrastructure.

• Supply of equipment and drainage of a wireless solution.

• In addition, VERNA specialists provided consulting services for the design of the solution.

According to the results of the IT audit, the decision was made to build a distributed, secure and scalable wireless network at the disposal of Aruba Networks. For this, the controller of the Aruba 7010-RW wireless network was selected, providing power support in the future.

Features of Aruba 7010-RW Wireless Controller

• Provides an ample supply of running for the future development of the wireless network.

• Supports management of up to 32 access points (2048 clients).

• Has 12 PoE ports with a total power of 150 W for connecting access points.

• Flexible licensing system, allowing you to easily expand the network at any time.

To determine the optimal coverage of radio frequencies and determine the number and models of access points, VERNA specialists conducted radio analysis and radio frequency planning with the use of software and equipment complex on the basis of software inspection TamoGraph Site Survey Science.

As a result of radio analysis and modeling of the density of users of the network, 16 access points of two types were revealed - Aruba 103 and Aruba 115, covering more than 10,000 m² of office premises. All points support 802.11n standards and two frequency bands - 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz at the same time. The IAP-115 is capable of high loads and has 6 built-in omnidirectional antennas (combined with 4 antennas in the IAP-103 models).

Results and rewards of project implementation


As a result of the implementation of the project, N-ix solved the problem with the “hanging” of the network, called the high density of users per access point. A highly productive and scalable wireless network with a single control center has been created, which can quickly and efficiently handle large volumes of traffic. This solution will significantly improve the efficiency of the work of the collaborators and ensure the stable work of the wireless network in conditions of high load.
