As part of cooperation with the large METRO wholesale network, VERNA has developed and successfully implemented an innovative project for the implementation of the Smart Ramp system.
One of the main problems faced by METRO was the need to optimize warehouse operations related to the acceptance and shipment of goods. These processes of great complexity and volume require a significant amount of working time of supermarket employees, while there is a threat of random errors that can lead to financial losses for the company.
Thanks to the implementation of the Smart Ramp system, managed to automate and control these warehouse operations, METRO has experienced significant improvements in its business process. It was possible to significantly reduce the time spent on receiving and shipping goods, as well as optimize the working resources involved in these processes. An important result was to ensure complete transparency and control over all stages of operations, which avoided potential problems.
VERNA specialists have implemented the smart RAMPA system in six major METRO shopping centers located in four different cities of Ukraine. Currently, work is actively being carried out on planning the implementation of new client facilities. This successful experience started back in 2020 with the first test system, and the implementation in five shopping centers this yearconfirmed its effectiveness.
The system includes components such as controllers, magnetic card readers, ramp opening sensors, video communication terminals connected to a security post, as well as tablets with a database of suppliers.
In case of an unauthorized opening of the shutter, an emergency situation occurs, a siren signal is notified, and an alarm automatically appears on the monitor of the security post, accompanied by the activation of the camera broadcast directed to the specified area. A security officer, using a loudspeaker communication system, can interact with a potential violator and inform him that his actions are under percentage control.
In order to fully monitor and ensure the security of the implemented Smart Ramp system, VERNA has established strict information retention standards. Each action of the employee, including the operations of acceptance of goods, as well as information on security actions, is logged in a special database. In case of detection of a violation or incident, employees fill out a special form that describes the event in detail. This information is stored in a database and becomes available for further analysis and study.
All this turnover information can be easily offloaded in the form of tables and reports, providing METRO management with a complete overview and analytical report on the progress and results of operations. It allows you to effectively monitor, analyze and improve business processes, ensuring a high level of transparency and accountability in management.
In addition, the Smart Ramp system meets all the equipment requirements that are provided to the customer. When working in different areas and in different climatic conditions, where humidity and other complications are possible, VERNA suggests the use of high quality industrial tablets. For example, in the fish area, where the hands of workers are often wet, the use of industrial-class models guarantees reliable and uninterrupted operation of the equipment.
