Radio reconnaissance and radio planing in the construction of a Wi-Fi network

For high-quality and uninterrupted operation, reducing the risks of unauthorized access and costs, radio planing and radio reconnaissance are used when building or modernizing a Wi-Fi network.

During RF planning, we conduct software simulations of how the future network will work. We carry out a set of measures to select the optimal configuration of the wireless network, analyze the spread of radio waves in the area of the future network, select the Wi-Fi range and the optimal installation locations of access points, communication equipment, perform test setup of equipment.

The theoretical scheme of wireless coverage of the Wi-Fi network obtained during radio planning is tested in practice by conducting radio reconnaissance, which aims to develop a wireless network project that will provide quality service for a given number of customers.

Correctly conducted radio planing affects the choice of network configuration and its final cost.

To expand the coverage area and prepare the network for new tasks in the customer's existing wireless network, we carry out radio reconnaissance — a set of measures to analyze the operation of the existing network. Radio reconnaissance helps to understand where the weak point is, how the signal spreads, where the equipment is mounted. During radio reconnaissance, we analyze the radio broadcast with the help of special equipment, measure signal strength, noise, interference, determine the actual data transfer rate, packet loss rate, wireless roaming quality.

Based on the results of radio intelligence, we get a complete picture of the work of the existing network and make proposals to improve its efficiency.

Radio reconnaissance and radio planing allow us to offer our customers to optimally arrange access points so that there are no areas with poor Wi-Fi coverage, if the TDs are placed very rarely.

At the same time, high-quality radio planning helps to avoid unnecessary costs and errors in data transmission, if there are too many access points and they interfere with each other due to interchannel interference.
