SEB Bank is expanding its presence in several regions of Ukraine. The growth of the branch network has led to an increase in the cost of technical and service support of the IT infrastructure. The bank's management is tasked with reducing IT costs. The considered solutions led to the conclusion of an agreement with VERNA.
• Before concluding an IT outsourcing contract, it was necessary to optimize the customer's equipment fleet.
• Quick replacement of faulty equipment without loss of functionality of bank units.
• Expected effect of project implementation — reduction of IT costs while ensuring continuity and quality of basic services for employees and customers of the bank.
Work under an IT outsourcing contract with VERNA started with a pilot project covering eight branches of SEB Bank in the Dnipropetrovsk region. The contract provides for the performance of 14 types of work, among which:
• commissioning of new and modernization of existing equipment;
• maintenance, diagnostics and repair of equipment and networks;
• software updates and settings;
• supply of consumables and elements;
• other service and technical support work.
To ensure the continuous operation of bank branches, a reserve fund of equipment has been created.
IT specialists with experience in working with the bank's information system were transferred to the VERNA project team to perform the contracting work. This provides the necessary level of service from the contractor. In case of critical applications, including loss of functionality of equipment, the response time with the departure of the engineer for troubleshooting is two hours for branches in Dnipro and four hours for branches outside the regional center.
A feature of the project is the preliminary optimization of the IT park in the branches of SEB Bank. VERNA representatives took an inventory of IT equipment for four days. According to the results of the inventory, a list of non-repairable and morally obsolete equipment was compiled. Such equipment is subject to write-off with registration of all necessary documents and transportation to the central office of the bank for further disposal. As a result of these actions, a list of modern reliable IT equipment for technical support has been created.
• Optimization of the equipment fleet made it possible to eliminate unjustified expenses of SEB Bank for maintenance of obsolete and unrepairable equipment.
• Reduction of the cost of servicing the information system of SEB Bank was achieved by transferring non-core functions and works to outsourcing.
To date, the execution of the technical support contract meets the agreed requirements and conditions. It can also be noted that the chosen scheme of cooperation gives the expected effect, we are considering the possibility of expanding this practice. As a result of the pilot project, a network of SEB Bank branches in another region of Ukraine is being prepared to transfer to VERNA IT outsourcing.
